Dr. Hull, an expert in the field of executive coaching, organizational and leadership development since 1995, has worked with leading multi-national companies in the US, Asia, and Europe, both as a senior management team member, coach and consultant. He has worked in a wide range of industries, including health care, media, financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals, advertising and education.
Dr. Hull’s philosophy as a coach is simple: he believes that coaching is a partnership —a committed, engaged, and confidential relationship—designed to assist the client to discover and expand their strengths and opportunities for personal and professional growth. His work is always customized to meet the needs of the client and his style of work is conversational, exploratory and, as appropriate, direct (with a dose of humor as needed).
Prior to becoming a leadership development consultant and executive coach, Dr. Hull worked as licensed psychologist and a senior corporate executive for over fifteen years.
In his role as the global head of HR for Booz Allen Hamilton, Dr. Hull was responsible for senior talent management, organization design and effectiveness for a group that grew from 30 consultants to over 900 in a five year period. He managed a staff of HR generalists located in offices throughout the U.S. and abroad, including New York, Sao Paolo, Hong Kong, and London.
As an entrepreneur, Dr. Hull has been a partner in two leading consultancies based in New York City, worked as a private practice psychologist, and has over 20 years’ experience working with CEO’s and C-suite executives in areas of organizational development, talent management, creativity and innovation, conflict management, team building, and performance coaching.
Dr. Hull is an accomplished researcher, writer and speaker. He has written two books, and published in The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, Coaching World, International Journal of Analytical Psychology, Parenting Press, Personal Excellence and the Huffington Post. His best-selling second book, “FLEX: The Art and Science of Leadership in a Changing World” was published by Penguin Random House in 2020 and has been translated into four languages: Mandarin, Korean, Portuguese and English.
