Torsten supports CEOs and their leadership teams in making strategy happen in times of increasing uncertainty. Based on high ethical standards, he has developed a unique and holistic “Executive Sparring” approach over the last 18 years, combining various traditional “softer” coaching methods with useful “harder” elements of business model sparring and consulting techniques. He recommends a highly flexible “New Work” and “hybrid” collaboration scheme – with virtual touchpoints whenever possible and needed.
Following his studies of economics, politics, and sociology at WHU Koblenz, in Boston, Brussels, and Washington, D.C., Torsten’s academic research and teaching has primarily focused on agile strategy processes, culture development, and post-heroic leadership. In the last 20 years, he has continuously learned and regularly updated his own skill set with numerous helpful instruments from various disciplines and schools of thought (design thinking, mediation, constellation work, systemic supervision, hypnotherapy, group dynamics, and many more). Currently, he offers supervision to new coaches and teaches courses on Systemic Navigating, Agile Facilitation, and Orchestrating Hybrid Strategy Development.
In his corporate career with Lufthansa German Airlines, Torsten was among other roles a lobbyist at the EU institutions in Brussels and their first Head of Global Change Management. Later, he co-founded a digital start-up company and led it through times of failure and success. In 2002, he decided to found “bridging people & ideas” as a social business and to dedicate his life to bringing people and ideas together that would not meet otherwise. Together with his team, he has since then supported companies, governments, and not-for-profit organizations in Europe, Africa, the U.S. and Asia. In the last 12 years, Torsten has focused on helping private equity owned businesses to shift their focus to sustainably increasing their company value, and developing systemic tools for investors, lawyers, and M&A consultants.
