Jan-Willem is a senior international business-oriented People & Culture Leader with 25+ years’ experience. After having worked for more than 20 years in HR Leadership roles in Europe and Asia for Philips Electronics, SABIC, Danone and Perfetti Van Melle, he is since 2018 working as Senior Consultant and Executive Coach, being based in Shanghai (China).

In his executive coaching, he focuses on providing leadership growth by enabling successful leaders to lead effectively through positive behavior change that is sustained, recognized and acknowledged by others.

Jan-Willem has a strong track record in driving organizational performance and transformation (including business start-ups, restructuring and post- merger integration), building purpose, trust and empowerment and performance driven organizational cultures, building meaningful employee experience and high employee engagement, building organizational capabilities and developing talent, building high performing teams and organizations in diverse cultures, aligning HR with business and organizational strategies and priorities, and building the HR Function.

Jan-Willem has held leading international HR roles in various blue-chip companies in different industries (FMCG, consumer goods, technology, chemicals) in both mature and emerging markets. In 2009 he moved to Singapore to become the Head of HR for Danone’s Dairy division in Asia Pacific, Middle East & Southern Africa. In 2013 he became the Head of HR Asia Pacific for Perfetti van Melle, one of the largest confectionary makers in the world, and number 2 in the China market. He had a leading role in strengthening the leadership teams in the various markets and in transforming the company to become more consumer, customer, marketing and performance oriented. In 2015 he led the HR function for the China business (comprising almost 70% of the regional revenue) and played a leading role in successfully transforming the business.
