Brian Szepkouski MA
Brian Szepkouski is an executive coach who brings 15 years of executive coaching experience to AIIR. As a leading authority on cross-cultural communications, international executive development, and strategic planning for global business expansion, Brian provides executive coaching for long-term excellence in global leadership. Capitalizing on his extensive global business experience, he provides executive coaching to global team leaders as well as executives facing the challenges of understanding and working effectively in a new culture. In addition to executive coaching, Brian also offers targeted programs focusing on, Leading Across Cultures, Cross-cultural Negotiation Strategies, and Developing a Global Mindset for companies around the world.
Brian has worked extensively throughout Europe and Asia, handling key accounts in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, China, and Australia. With a keen knowledge of building effective relationships across borders and cultures, he leads workshops and consults with individuals on developing global leadership skills, increasing organizational effectiveness, and harnessing diversity for solid growth.
Some of Brian’s past business positions have included working as the chief representative of the New York office for Daido-Hoxan Inc., a Japanese multinational, while concurrently holding the role of head of marketing for a new company created by American-Standard Inc. and Daido-Hoxan. Mr. Szepkouski also held the position of executive director of international public relations for Tiffany & Company, where he directed worldwide media events and product placement.
Brian has a true passion for inspiring individuals and organizations alike to manage, leverage and profit from the changes associated with various business cycles. As a group facilitator and keynote speaker, numerous corporations have benefited from his cultural insights, humor and engaging style. In addition to co-authoring two books, Brian provides intercultural training to organizations seeking to improve their global effectiveness and productivity.
Brian has a MA in International Education and Human Resource Development from George Washington University and a BA in Foreign Languages (German, Japanese and Spanish) from the University of Redlands in California. He completed intensive courses in languages and linguistics at the Monterey Institute of International Studies and the University of North Dakota. In addition to his six years in Japan, Brian has lived in Mexico and throughout the U.S. Brian speaks Japanese and has conversational abilities in Spanish and German, and his interests include international travel, swimming, gardening and calligraphy. Brian currently resides in Bernardsville, New Jersey with his wife and son.
