Profile

Dana Asher PhD
Dana Asher is an organizational consultant, group facilitator, certified executive coach, and keynote speaker with a track record of improving quality of life at work. Over a twenty-year career, Dana has maintained a focus on building personal and institutional capacity for growth and development, with a propensity for going deep across a broad swath of sectors and industries.
As Managing Director for the Winning from Within practice at Mobius Executive Leadership, and at The Energy Project, where she built and led the Organizational Transformation practice, Dana has helped some of the world’s top leaders and teams to lead transformationally while performing sustainably. At McKinsey & Company, as Practice Manager of the Capability for Performance practice, Dana led high-performing teams that delivered measurable impact at scale, developing innovative leadership development programs that reached thousands of learners across the firm’s diverse consultant and client base.
Dana currently serves organizations including amfAR (the foundation for AIDS research), Booking Holdings (formerly the Priceline Group), The Ford Foundation, Finalta (of McKinsey & Company), HavenLife (of MassMutual), The New School for Social Research, Oxeon Partners, and Storyful. Past clients include Accenture, Alcoa, Berkshire Partners, Corning, Google, KPMG, Lincoln Financial, Nestlé, PwC, Stop and Shop, and The U.S. Air Force, among others.
Dana works regularly with individuals and teams working sub-optimally as the result of chronic stress amidst rising demand and increased complexity. With awareness that organizations perform only as well as the people in them, and are only as strong and healthy as the internal and external relationships they can sustain, Dana works intentionally and relationally, bringing people and work cultures back into relationship with themselves, one another, and stakeholders. She works effectively with mission-driven leaders and organizations, as well as those who seek a North Star. A contributor to Fast Company and editor of the blog Inner Workings, Dana has been featured in The Boston Globe, More magazine, SELF, and multiple print volumes.
Dana trained in the Systems-Psychodynamic (Socio-Analytic) method at The Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research, wherein consultant and client look at person, role, and organization together, and completed two years of Tavistock-method participant observation with infants and their families. Prior to that, Dana was awarded a PhD with distinction from Northwestern University, where she trained in the humanities (the study of the human condition). She brings to client work deep attunement to the power of the stories we tell ourselves.
