David Andrews MEd
David brings to AIIR over 15 years of experience developing and delivering learning programs to individuals and teams on six continents. David’s mission is to help both individuals and teams understand their unique strengths in order to launch organizational growth, development and success. Working one-on-one through leadership and executive coaching, David designs and delivers programs and perspectives to build professional and personal strengths, fulfillment, and accomplishment. As a leader and facilitator, he works with teams to enhance their competencies and creativity with open minds, open hearts, and open wills.
Prior to becoming a full-time executive coach, David worked as a Business Process Officer at The World Bank where he supported all global teams. Through this special position, he had the opportunity to connect with staff in country offices around the world and with management at headquarters in Washington, DC. Working directly with senior-level managers and staff on the ground, David gained the trust of sometimes disparate parties and helped to create pathways for communication and solutions to benefit the organization and its mission. He also helped design and implement new programs to raise the stature and recognition of teams in crucial roles for the success of the organization.
David has led teams of learning and communications professionals for information technology, governmental, educational, pharmaceutical, non-profit, and development organizations. He started his career as a high school English teacher where he enjoyed tailoring learning activities to the unique needs of his students. He brings this passion for delivering individualized, holist and strengths-based solutions to all of his work. A lover of learning, David is a voracious reader who continuously seeks out and integrates new ideas through his relationships and his work.
David earned a Masters Degree in Education from the Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelors degree in English and Political Science from the University of Maryland. He has certifications and training in coaching and leadership through The Coaches Training Institute, The Center for Right Relationship – Organizational Relationship Systems Coaching, and the International Coaching Federation among others. He has extensive professional experience working with teams and individuals in and from countries around the world.
David’s clients appreciate his humor, approachability, and curiosity. With his deep and broad expertise across industries, and his skill at asking thought-provoking and direction-changing questions, David’s clients are propelled forward to higher levels of success and satisfaction.
