Liz Keever

Internal Coaching Strategy | Team Effectiveness

Liz Keever creates value for leaders by leveraging her experience as an entrepreneur, B2B salesperson, leader in a Fortune 30 company, and as a performing artist. Her approach is founded in strategic thinking and developed with emotional intelligence, executive presence and a deep knowledge of adult learning. Her deep listening skills and thoughtful questions enable her clients to discover their own path.

An experienced leadership coach, consultant and facilitator, Liz has coached business leaders nationally and internationally. She has personally coached emerging leaders as well as leaders in the C-suite from Fortune 100 companies in financial services, management consulting, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing. Liz has helped to develop leaders or leadership programs in China, India, Japan, Europe, the Middle East and Africa via in-person sessions, phone and video calls.

Liz is an award-winning international speaker and author. She has led workshops and presentations for the American Society for Training & Development (now ATD), International Coach Federation, and the International Association of Business Communicators. She presented at the International Conference on Knowledge, Culture and Change in Organizations at Cambridge University. Her paper, on the use of video in collaborative learning, is published in the same journal. She has been published in the Training Journal and her most recent article on ‘E-Coaching” appears in Technology-Enabled Learning Excellence for HR.com. Liz served as adjunct faculty at New York University in the department of Leadership and Human Capital Management where she taught executive coaching, team-building and leadership at the graduate level as well as the capstone program in the executive coaching certificate.

In her most recent position, Liz was a leader of the internal coaching group at Anthem. In addition to coaching senior executives, she was responsible for training and developing the internal coaching team. Her work tripled the size of the internal coaching program and was featured in an article on the measurement of ROI in coaching for Training Magazine. Her development and training of Anthem’s Leader as Coach initiative contributed to a measurable reduction in turnover.

Initially trained as a musician, Liz continues to be passionate about the arts. Her work in coaching and leadership development taps her experience as a creative artist and professional performer as well as a teacher of singing. It was as a voice teacher that her coaching journey began. She sees a strong tie between creativity and innovation in the workplace and the work of a creative artist.

Liz holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication and Leadership from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Studies from the State University of New York. Her coach training is from the Hudson Institute of Coaching in Santa Barbara. She is certified in several personality assessments and has completed programs on design thinking at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
