Michael Burns MBA
Michael Burns brings unique leadership experiences and an extensive corporate background to his coaching work at AIIR. Most recently, Michael was a senior executive for Conduent, a Fortune 500 technology-led business process services organization with over 85,000 employees in more than 40 countries. Prior to this, Michael led the global diversity function for the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) of Citigroup, where his mission was to drive diversity and inclusion for one of the world’s largest banks. Prior to Citigroup, Michael was a COO of the technology company, Medical Information Records LLC, named the 2014 Dell-Intel healthcare start-up company of the year.
Michael joined Corporate America after serving 13 years in the US Army, initially as a helicopter pilot and civil-military advisor with the 101st Airborne Division in support of operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq. In these roles he had the privilege of leading over 100 brave and motivated American and Iraqi Soldiers on difficult, yet incredibly impactful missions. He concluded his military career as the Head of Diversity Recruitment and Enrollment for the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Michael’s corporate and military journey has directly shaped his approach to coaching, learning, and living. As a coach, Michael’s mission is to help leaders successfully maximize their skills, passions, brand, and networks to navigate tough and complex problems and deliver measurable value to their organizations. He feels that true value is only realized when WHO you are and WHAT you do coexist. In essence, his core belief is that life is too short to be complex.
Michael has an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Business Management and Leadership from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Michael’s coach training is from Teachers College at Columbia University.
