Members of the development team can be enrolled into alerts from AWS for when the application becomes unavailable.
Enrollment
- Contact the project lead via Slack or Email
- Request to be added to the application outage notifications
- Include your cell phone number with country code
- Confirm that you agree to receive these text messages
- Once enrolled, you will receive a confirmation SMS message
- Verify your phone number by following the instructions on the confirmation message
- To remove your number from notifications, contact the project lead via Slack or Email requesting to stop receiving application outage SMS messages
Messages
- Only automated messages from AWS Health Checks will be sent when the system becomes unavailable
- Frequency: On-demand; Outage events occur rarely (less than 1x per month)
- Sample Message:

- Check with your wireless carrier for charges related to receiving SMS messages.
