Sometimes a program comes along that highlights why leadership really matters. That was the case in AIIR’s recent partnership with veteran organization Team Red, White, and Blue.
Team RWB’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity, something that is increasingly important with more than 200,000 U.S. service members returning to civilian life each year.
Join us for a conversation about how coaching was able to advance that mission.

JJ Pinter is the Executive Director of Team Red, White, and Blue. As Team RWB’s 2nd employee, he has played a key role in the development, growth, and operation of the organization. JJ works closely with board members, staff, and volunteer leaders to ensure the delivery of excellent programs that deliver impact. He provides strategic guidance in addition to building and managing critical partnerships. Through JJ’s efforts, Team RWB is making a difference in combating the loneliness crisis experienced by not only veterans but our entire Nation.
JJ is a West Point graduate and combat veteran, serving as a Field Artillery officer. After his military service, he held both leadership and analytical positions in the construction, defense, and medical industries. He currently resides outside Louisville, KY with his wife and 3 kids, where he loves to coach youth sports and be outdoors with his family.
Chris joined Team RWB after he participated in the Old Glory Relay in Seattle on September 11th, 2016. After a rich career as an Army Special Forces officer, carrying Old Glory with Team Red, White, and Blue from Seattle south toward Portland, Chris experienced an incredible connection to his new community and his Nation. Facilitating that transition from combat leader to contributing civilian, Team Red, White and Blue has filled his need to serve others through a powerful movement of like-minded individuals. Now in his second year of building the next chapter, Chris and his wife, Kristina, live in the Pacific Northwest to focus on family, quality of life, and a connection with the community values found in small-town America. They believe that in this environment, they can be their best selves. Team Red, White, and Blue has become a key part of facilitating that transition.
During the past three decades, Chris has gained extensive experience commanding, planning and executing special operations missions around the world. Through facilitating the success of Partner Nation leaders, both General Officers and Government Leaders, in Afghanistan, the Balkans, Northwest Africa, and Canada, he learned that we excel when we all work together. His career allowed him to serve as a mentor, trainer, and coach both in combat and uncertain environments at the strategic, operational and tactical level. Now serving as a professional executive coach and leadership advisor for AIIR and his own leadership consulting company, Chris balances summiting mountains in the Pacific Northwest Cascades and inspiring high performers to achieve their own epic summits through genuine leadership.
